Poetry: Candy Land

Cotton candy clouds
drop
Cream soda rain
onto
the vanilla fudge ground.

And twizzler trees
without
Maple cookie leaves
stretch
through powdered sugar fog.

As toffee puddles
flow
Gingerbread houses
glow
from their butterscotch lights.

Poetry: Butterflies Drift

Butterflies drift
before a man
before
the
dawning night.

Clouds retreating
beyond the veil
beyond
a
setting sun.

Ruminate long
within this space
within
this
sober sight.

Poetry: Love Grows

warm wind
humid heat
setting sun
loves meet

colored cloud
darkened skies
milky moon
love sighs

hopes heart
solemn souls
deep depths
love grows

yawning cliffs
barren beaches
smooth sands
love teaches

bold beauty
mellow mind
witty woman
love rhyme.

Poetry: Brief Reprieve

Cold haze
slow releases
from naked trees
long barren
austere
that squirrel
poised
on a
narrow fence
twitching precision
left right
abrupt and
February’s day
briefly kind
pithy benevolence
lets April play
transcendent
though brief
this reprieve
tenders
far distant
birds jubilant song
serene.

Poetry: Elements Easing

When swift wind is blowing
and birds free breeze the dale
my hopeless heart is lightened
gone the gloomy gale.

When sweet child is playing
and laughs full loud with glee
my mirthless mind is gladdened
gone the sorrowed sea.

When mauve moon is rising
and stars shine through the night
my shadowed soul is brightened
gone the bleary blight.
