Poetry: Love’s Conundrum

What seems so very simple
is not so what it seems;
(To complicate the matter
our lives are full of dreams.)

Enthralling tours of wonder
cause feelings strong to grow;
(Illusions cast long shadows
on paths which lead to woe.)

The world is always lovely
so longs the heart at night;
(Within the dream is shining
though distant is the light.)

Hot passions tend to smolder
for those who hold them dear;
(Longing will always linger
so hearts do slowly tear.)

Murals seen imbued within
in love so strong the zeal;
(Such scenes painted so deeply
dread time will seek to steal.)

Desire’s fruit sweet ripens
love’s nectar to be found;
(But dead to earth it’s falling
and makes no thoughtful sound.)

To taste the fruit of Eros
resolve with joy it flies;
(Cold doubt blunts the purpose
with winter’s breath it dies.)

When two lovers are loving
then souls they can be free;
(Stormy minds tend to becloud
sure paths one once could see.)

Love songs play a melody
sublime heard in a dream;
(Though softly sure it whispers
foreign can seem its theme.)

A trance of love is beauty
and stunning in its hue;
(Always an angst in moments
when taken out of view.)

Places for peaceful knowing
keep true the soul at peace;
(Paths fade in somber travels
so lost souls tend to cease.)

So the quest for loves reward
pursued throughout all time;
(No matter words not knowing
it’s found within the rhyme.)

Poetry: Her Voice

Loving words dictate the days
of the rhythm and of its ways
sweet it rests and surely stays
until love’s portent softly plays.

A  quiet sound can seem loud
loosens my lonely sullen crowd
from a mind which can be proud
renews a hope shreds a shroud.

In this park sweet children run
playing at games and having fun
shout and laugh under the sun
joyous loving this day is won.

Her voice soft such joyful things
buries dead all my sullen kings
to my heart to my soul it sings
such revelry to me she brings.

Poetry: Questions

What would it be like
to kiss you
to hold you tight
to gaze into your eyes
until I fell forever into
your staggering totality?

What would it be like
to taste you
smell your body
feel you touch me
until I felt a thousand
flames torch my soul?

What would it be like
to be near you
to kiss your lips
to forever love you
until my very essence
dissolved into your wonder?

Poetry: Magic Brush

I have a magic brush you know
take it
paint yourself a myriad of hues
bright yellows, soft reds, subtle blues
Color all of you with it
use it
and though the colors may run
from time to time
and grey can seem the one
tint that takes over the view
take it
use it
over and over when
all the colors run again
I have a magic brush
use every hue
it never runs out of paint
it’s just for coloring you.

Poetry: Your Heart

I will hug it
hold it
stoke it back to life
I will caress it
finesse it
impress it
wash away your strife.

I will honor it
worship it
love it
put it in a safe place
I will protect it
reassure it
shield it
fill it’s entire place.

I will tease it
please it
ease it
thaw it’s frozen ice
I will warm it
heat it
melt it
never thinking twice.
