Poetry: Cassandra

Poetry Cassandra

Oh Cassandra your ever
smiling cherub face reminds
my soul of Cupid’s delight.

A melting sun glorified her
black flowing black hair
soft as a bubbling brook.

The buzzing bee parted
eager lips and engaged in
quenching sweet desire.

The intrepid sun would
strike fear and dread as
it clung tightly to my clothes.

Oh Cassandra eternal well-
spring of a deep born urges
remember me remember me.

Poetry: Profundity

Poetry Profundity

I lost a june bug
long ago
thought you should know
I think she was taken
ripped from a leaf

we shared the soup of
immortals gallantly
braving the injustices
of that world
in such repose
it would
stagger you

until one day
from a trembling leaf
she was taken from me
she didn’t have a chance
she was gone

no one saw it coming
no one to share the rain
with anymore
no one to
make sense of it all
no one to
meet the day
with anymore

then
a funny thing happened
that obliterated
20,000 years of
unknowing
20,000 years
and just
like
that
she was here

now we run on leaves
we’ve missed so
and splash the rain
that’s fallen
over 20,000 years
cleansed by
eons of knowing

we stroll on precipices
of narrow green leaves
balancing
perfection
sharing once again
the very profundity
of us under
the perfect sun.

Poetry: All The Splendor

Poetry All The Splendor

The rose
natures
fairest scent
covering
the valley
pales
compared to the
smell of your
perfume
on a letter.

If Aphrodite
Goddess
of beauty
of love
swift she
devolves into
a wretched hag
given the chance
to love
you.

And Shakespeare
godly master
great creator
of words
dull to me
when I
hear your
sweet voice
calling to me
from the page.

Such is my
truth
the sum of
all the splendor
and more
(though it persists)
will not
ever amount
to one iota
of you.

Poetry: That Lost Day

Poetry That Lost Day

Duchess of my heart
royal monarch ruling
over hearts dominion
noble grace reigning
over souls province

how lovely you were
that flawless visage
how dramatic then
hair elegant flowing
eyes alluring staring

parted lips painted
breathless your kiss
muted hushed sighs
mouth of ambrosia
sweet scented scilla

Ever shall I remember
our amatory affection
our fervent devotion
so resplendent this
Duchess of my heart.

Poetry: This Sanctuary

Poetry Sanctuary

breath
into my mouth
chant
ancient melodies
the whole
night
through
under the
dread moon

ease yourself
into this temple
built for you
by you
is you
where I worship
you in
veneration
adoration
reverence
deeply

where I kneel
humbly transfixed
by you
made whole
by you
entranced
by you
me
us

so many
silent musings
of
wiser meanings
deeper places
ancient gleanings

immortal traces
your sighs
a concerto
a poem
a theatre
of sensations
bursting forth
echoing thunderously
as lightning
from mighty
Zeus

this wonder
staggering in
its intensity
majesty
luminosity
possessing fully
this trance
permeating wholly
my intrepid
sanctuary.
