Poetry: Your Eyes

Your eyes have put me in a trance
with just one frozen picture glance
If I could hold your face and see
those lovely eyes were just for me…
Your eyes have put me in a daze
I know that love within them stays
If I could slip into their core
you’d find it’s me you would adore.
Your eyes so lovely shining bright
they reach into my soul at night
If you were here instead of there
into your eyes I’d have to stare.
Your eyes my soul they open wide
from them my feelings cannot hide
with just one frozen picture glance
your eyes have put me in a trance.

this is so true, eyes are what catches the attention
Aawww… love it.. though it is hard to believe you dont remember who inspired you to write this poem…
Well it’s an old poem with no date that I found amongst my papers, this I’ve no clue having written several hundred lol. Let’s just say it’s every woman haha
If you say so… lol..
I really felt all the emotions with this poem.. loved it
I’m so glad you did!
Wow this is beautiful, really loved it! And just in time for Valentine’s Day lol
Ugh, NOT for Valentine’s Day–for the record. I hate the concept of Valentine’s Day on so many levels. But I do understand why you said that, and in no way am I affected by someone elses opinion of that foul holiday!
lol I get it, I understand completely and you’re not the only one. I know so many people who just hate it. Me, it’s just neutral.
Lovely poem Effortlessly lovely. Beautiful blue eyes.
I debated on the eys because I couldn’t remember whose eyes I was writing about, lol. Seemed nice enough, these eyes. Can apply to any eyes that capture your heart, yes?
love this one Rob
Thank you so much. It’s ok if I don’t write something that works to tell me, lol.
LOL… To be honest, I love all of them. I just hate my comment to always be “loved this one, Rob” 🙂
Lol, one can never get enough healthy love, no worries!
haha…healthy love is good, agreed. I’ve always loved poetry, write a little myself. Not brave enough to share it though 🙂 I feel poetry is like scripture, I might not always understand it’s meaning but it’s always beautiful 🙂
What?! How can you not post your poetry, come on now get posting! God’s word is great and all, but you need to share your own. I’m staying mad at you now until you inform me you have posted your poem. Don’t worry about what you think will happen, get posting! Until then😠😬😠😡😬😠
maybe, but if, and that’s a HUGE if, I’ll post it over here in your comments. LOL at God’s word is great and all. A lot of my poetry is about His word…LOL 🙂
Your eye… Someone’s Eyes😆😉… Wording is perfect👍👌👌👌
Thank you so very much, I appreciate you always coming by and sharing your thoughts on my work!
Your post is as always awesome..I just loved ur thought…good job..❤
I don’t know how to say this except…I’m kind of jealous of whoever inspired this poem. I’m also jealous of your ability to make this. I don’t know why I can’t write the way I was, and it’s making me miserable. /whine
Thank you so much! I lost my poetic voice for almost a month! I found some older poetry I wrote, so I am technically still devoid of inspiration. It will come back. And to be honest, I can’t remember who inspired this poem. I know it was from a picture of someone though, long distance.
I understand what you mean. I felt I had connected with poetry and now I’m stymied. I almost feel, in a weird way, that it is the price I am paying for losing myself again. Trying to get away from that type of thinking though, because it’s making me miserable!
It will be ok. Your voice will come back. Believe!
🙂 I’m getting there. You posted a metal song today.. you should check out Prayer by Disturbed, also Devour by Disturbed I think you’d like them 🙂
Immediately someone comes to mind
Oh really? Who
Her name is Rachel and when the time is right there will be a blog post about that encounter I never saw her eyes in person, only photos
Same here! I honestly can’t remember who the hell this poem was about, but I have an idea. I think it was a poet I met on my old poetry site I owned, WorldofPoets. She was from Michigan now that I think of it. I think? Lol Look forward to reading it Jeff.
Here it comes It’s longer than my usual post but it’s coming tonight
