Living Life Well: Change What You Can
Gems for living a life of wellness. Lessons I have learned, or am learning, during this crazy journey through life.
If time is short, and it is, it makes sense to not go wasting any of it, not a precious drop! So the idea here is pay attention to what, in your life, you have some control over, and let go of the rest!
Beating yourself up over things that you cannot control is counterproductive and such a waste of time. I’m not saying you should stop caring about things or to walk away from those in need. In fact quite the opposite in many ways, but there are areas in which you can make a personal difference and other areas where you’ll never even make a dent.
If you waste time struggling to change stuff that is obviously never going to be changed, then life will whizz past and you’ll miss it. If, on the other hand, you dedicate yourself personally to thing you can change, areas where you can make a difference, then life becomes richer and more fulfilled. And the more rich it is, curiously, the more time you seem to have.
So, don’t waste time preaching to those who won’t listen. Don’t continue to be concerned over the new President; it’s not going to change. We don’t have to waste effort or energy or resources on things over which we have no control and no certainty of any success. By changing ourselves, though, we can be assured of a result.
this came from a good place in you Rob, your writing is shifting, sand are moving beneath your feet.
Hope I don’t sink lol
sand — not quick sand – face palm!
I know! Lol
Oh yes many of us waste time on things which shouldn’t be taking place in our lives, thoughts or conversations. 🙂
Good and detailed post. You covered everything what we all think, but sometimes don’t know how to say it 🙂
