Poetry: Gratitude

Bare branches stretching far
not being in a bar
baby powder on a child
not getting stupid or wild.

Distant love’s quiet presence
not doing jail-time penance
Ambient tunes gentle pull
not being full of bull.

A loving poem just for me
not reveling in a drunken spree
The sound of rain on a roof
not drinking root beer 100 proof.

A loving gesture from afar
not crashing yet another car
For these things gratitude
a fashion of my new attitude.

I Would Love Your Thoughts!
